Clarity and Alignment

I have been blogging for a little over a year now and have read a lot about “how to blog” and “how to make money online”. Everything from keyword optimization to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and have come to this conclusion. If you want to be successful you need to do all of that and none of it. Let me explain.

I am a musician, a computer tech, website designer, blogger and more. What do all of those things have in common? Well, before you can become great at any of them you need to learn the basics. So for all of those sites out there that tell you how to become rich overnight or get rich quick, I wanna know how because I have tried just about every method without breaking the bank and I’m not any closer to retiring.

I urge you all to listen to me carefully. If you are not familiar with blogging you need to start slow. Start with one blog and learn how to interact with your blog and the blogging community that supports your niche. The money will come sooner or later, but the key is to simply stick with it. I have made money doing this but the ones that are really raking in the cash have multiple blogs. Like Garry Conn, John Chow, Problogger and even Cybercoder. They all have multiple blogs.

Multiple Blogs equal multiple income streams.

So take it slow, learn what you are doing and I can promise you if you do things right and don’t take shortcuts you also will begin making money. Once you have gotten your first blog off the ground and make a steady income then you can start a second and a third. Trust me, its worth the time you put into it.

    Hey Young Guy,

You give good advise here. So often people see the finish line, but don’t realize they they have to run the race to get there.

Focus and build, focus and build bigger.

Just some things I’ve learned over the last year or so.. I also want to add another part to starting slow… Some people feel they can force their way into blogging with multiple blogs. Well this may work if you are lucky but if you don’t know the basics, it will all be for nothing. Trust me. I have shut down as many sites as I have started.
    Thanks Dan for your comments.
