What is Page Rank?
Thursday, June 12th, 2008In your travels around the internet researching new things about building blogs you may have run across discussions about Googles Page Rank. The easy way to define Page Rank is like this. Google ranks each website based on its contribution, of sorts, to the internet. If your site produces a lot of traffic and links your page rank will be high.

Obviously Google.com has a PR of 10 (which is the highest you can get). One thing I will say is, the way google ranks pages is hard to understand sometimes. Each of your pages will be ranked differently and at times a page that has barely any incoming links or outgoing links will rank high. No one really knows why this is.
So its as easy as this - - > Rank high in PR and typically you will rank higher in the Search Engine. But don’t confuse this. Just because you rank high in PR doesn’t mean you will rank high in Google. See its confusing huh? Ha ha Welcome to Blogging!!!
A great way to raise your PR, comment on as many other blogs that relate to your niche as possible. That will be something I cover in more depth in an upcoming post.
